Two influences:
During my school years, fashion design was a main focus. Immersed in visions of haute couture, I pored over fashion journals, creating my own world of elegant and daring designs. Erte’s high style, with his elongated, sensuously draped bodies, continues to have an enduring affect on my enjoyment of fashion.
In the years that followed school, a move to Colorado proved to be a turning point and I became enamored of western art. It began during the holidays, when a friend gave me a book entitled, The Western Art of James Bama. His oil portrait of 'Old Man Wyoming' in particular, has made an indelible impression on me. Bama by far, has been my greatest single influence toward realism.
